ART WORKS
Forever Always Somewhere, 2011, 2016

Forever Always Somewhere is a projected video work in which digitally animated bones can be seen in a Suffolk sky. Within the film's frame the bones of a single body move as if within zero gravity and infinite perspective. When they hit the screen's edges they are bounced back into its space. The animation was technically mastered by Olef Veron. The work was started in 2007 but not completed until 2012 when the soundtrack was defined and recorded. The soundtrack of drums was specially improvised and performed by Dominic Young.

The work was shown as part of SNAP Art at the Aldeburgh Festival, Suffolk, in 2011. It was installed in a derelict building, the contents, litter and pigeons becoming part of the installation. The film was projected onto a 20 x 10 ft wooden panel fixed to the wall. The work was also screened in the cinema at the ICA London as part of their Intercourse day in 2011.

A second version of the film (aspect ratio 3:4) was made in 2016. This was shown at CAST, Helston Cornwall and as part of the exhibition BREXIT - OUT OF THE MATRIX?, Kunsthalle Palazzo Liestal, Basel in 2017.

There is also an editioned work made of the same name, Forever Always Somewhere; a plaster and metal bone is in a wooden box that has been silkscreened with blue text. It is an edition of 6.
