ART WORKS
Dogs, Concrete, Perspex and Black, 1995-2004

These works are casts from a stuffed Jack Russell terrier. They stand in a pose of expectation. Two sculptures were made in concrete and one in clear perspex. All three have hair in varying amounts and places. Some of the hair was transferred from the dog to the lining of the mould as they were made and then in turn attached itself back to the casts.

The concrete dogs were often shown together with the Bloody Wallpaper; notably at the ICA, London as part of Skin of the Teeth in 1995, the Istanbul Biennale in the same year and Brilliant, New Art from London curated by Richard Flood, at the Walker Art Centre, Minneapolis and touring, USA, 1996.

In 2004 Black Dog was made; a stuffed dog covered in bitumen. This was exhibited in a self-initiated show called Man Rubble with Sarah Lucas, Shaun Doyle and Mally Mallinson in East London. It was later exhibited and sold in Oslo.
