This work is a life-size, wax cast of a man wearing a dirty blue anorak but undressed from the waist down... an awkward 'reclining nude'. Positioned on the floor of the gallery, a double take is often needed before it is clear that he is a work to be looked at as opposed to a visitor.
The work was made specifically for Some Went Mad Some Ran Away, an exhibition curated by Damien Hirst at the Serpentine Gallery, London in 1994 and touring after that.
The cast body was Angus Fairhurst.
